Sodium is one of those ingredients that we may not really think about, but it can be found in nearly anything, including processed foods and baked goods. The American Heart Association (AHA) recommends a maximum of 2,300 mgs of sodium per day for adults. To put that into perspective, 2,300 mgs only equals to about a teaspoon worth of salt.
